Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Nicolas Ivanoff, and I am a chiropodist in EC2, where my clinic Feet by Pody is based. I am registered by The Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a member of the Society of Chiropodist and Podiatrist (MChs) and currently run three clinics across London, including my practice as a chiropodist in EC2. I would like to explain how I diagnose foot conditions, namely through a process called gait analysis. As a chiropodist in EC2 I use a computerised pressure platform which my patient walks on, and this device gauges where on their feet pressure is exerted. In my work as a chiropodist in EC2 I commonly see, through using gait analysis techniques, two symptoms that show problems with a person's feet, and those two symptoms are:

Rolling Inwards (Pronation) Rolling Outwards (Supination)

These symptoms are often indicative of one of the main groups of foot pain:

Arch Pain Hell Pain Rear Foot Pain Forefoot Pain Big Toe Pain Arthritis of the Foot Diabetes

As a chiropodist in EC2 I am skilled in identifying all of these conditions, and also in understanding how they can be linked to wider health problems; this is because improper functionality of the feet often impacts significantly on the muscular-skeletal system. This often manifests itself through the patient experiencing knee pain, hip pain, or lower back pain. So why do some people's feet function in faulty ways? Well, in my career as a chiropodist in EC2 I have seen the following factors come into play:

Intrinsic: gender, weight, height, age Extrinsic: occupation, footwear, clothing Physical: such as weight, height, physique Physiological: measurements and proportions of body Pathological: trauma, neurological diseases, musculoskeletal anomalies, psychiatric disorders Psychological: personality type, emotions

As a chiropodist in EC2 I provide my patients with a full report of the findings of their gait analysis, and this is used to inform their subsequent treatment, and in my experience as a chiropodist in EC2, it is also a useful reference point for the patient. Once I have completed a thorough diagnosis of the patient's condition in my role as a chiropodist in EC2, treatment can include one or more treatments. A key aspect in my profession as a chiropodist in EC2 is ensuring that my patients are assured of the highest standards in the treatment that I provide. Strengthening: a course of safe and effective strengthening activities Stretching: a series of tailored stretching exercises to aid proper functioning of the foot Anti-inflammatory Therapy; can include prescribed steroidal and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) Orthotic Therapy: custom-made devices (similar to shoe inserts) designed to address foot conditions Nicolas Ivanoff is a chiropodist in EC2 with other clinics in Canary Wharf and Woolwich To find out more about this chiropodist in EC2, please visit www.feetbypody.com or phone 07907 456 846 and 0207 099 6657.
